This month:
--we cast out our writers block and am experimenting with posting frequency--weekly or bi-weekly
--began "quickies" in Shokiyu--viginettes that are 55 words or less
--we are beginning anew on The Video Game after all the files were lost.

Gemsinger Quickie #1--Morning pep talk
Inspired by a book of writing tips, here's the first of hopefully many "quickies"--scenes from Shokiyu in 55 words or less.
"Good morning, Miresa."
"Morning, Arune."
"You feeling better today?"
"Yes--it felt very good to have a good cry about the accident last night."
"What's done is done, and a new day is here--let's try and have it accident free."
"I'll try my best!"
"You say that every day and an accident happens..."
"I will do my best!"
"Better."

The problem with prompts
I want to do some writing in my world based on a prompt, but every list of prompts I've tried either feature items or situations that do not happen in my story...any ideas on where to find some good fantasy prompts?

Fantasy 101: If I were the teacher...
Inspired by this, here is what I would include if I were teaching a class on Fantasy Lit 101 in addition to what the author suggests:
--The Dragonriders of Pern
--The Song of the Lioness quartet
--If we wanted to focus on the fantastic side of sci-fi, we would discuss the original Star Wars trilogy in terms of the epic quest.
--Comparing Twilight to a better done urban fantasy featuring vampires as a sort of "what not to do"
The possibilities are endless here...
