1. Any surprises will match the story's tone.
2. Clues will hopefully be discreet.
3. The reveal will rely on more than language.
4. The party will act realistically to the surprise.
5. Most surprises will be towards the middle.
6. Just because it's a surprise doesn't mean it gets to break the rules without a very good reason.
